Extended warranties
I've got away without anything going wrong in the first 12 months since the original warranty ran out, which means I won my bet in not extending the warranty. If I look at all the cars I've owned in the last 15 years or so, it would never have been worth paying for extended warranties, in terms of the claims I would have made and also, as the car gets older, there are too many get outs for the warranty company re. wear and tear.
However, should I change my mind, and didn't want to stretch to the LR Approved/Select warranty, it seems the best bet is the top tier of the Tesco one. At least it allows you to nominate which garage you want to do repairs, whereas Warranty Direct make you use non - LR garages, who probably don't have the tools for the job. Is this a fair assessment?

I had a three year warranty wise one on my last car but never claimed as I sold the car a few months after buying it. The new owner had it transferred into his name.

When I bought mine, you paid for 2 years and got 3 on the highest level of cover. The Tesco one wasn't around then and from my experience so far it is great.
