I used not have the bong/chime at the end of the system check at start up. However, I've just had the Instrument Pack swapped out today for a re-coded used one (original was acting up) and it has the bong/chime, right after the system check completes and just before the air-bag light goes out.
It's a strange one and I guess I'll just need to get used to it. I would like to turn it off but the IID Tool doesn't seem to present any CCF configuration for such a thing.
Has anyone been able to work out the cause and if it can be switched off??
**UPDATE** I've just installed the 2007+ firmware for the instrument pack (shows clock on dash) and the bong is gone! I used to have that firmware on my replaced instrument pack too, which I'd updated years ago, so perhaps the original 2004-2006 firmware had the bong and I just forgot.
