There has been lots of talk about a false intake on the D4... but it seems it may be a real intake - we will wait and see eh ?

4x4 Magazine in Australia this month says drivers side (RHS)(same as D3) is engine air intake - other is just an "outlet" for heat under the bonnet; so its "real" in that air will flow in and out but its not linked to the airbox.2006 SE TDV6 with G4 Options ("A" Bar, Driving lights, expedition rack, ladder; fr & r light guards, side steps, G4 logos) door moulds; plus Long Ranger 115L sub-tank; OL rear wheel carrier; OL rear drawer system; Kenwood / Garmin Satellite Nav/bluetooth/iPod/rear camera/DVD); LR roof mounted DVD; GME 3440 UHF; Tyre Dog tyre monitoring system; Optima Yellow second battery and Traxide dual battery management system; Mitchell Bro's tow hitch;

I guess your wipers would look like they are 'clapping' when it rains regards

Nice, Andrew. Where did you get those AAIP spots for the roof?

I was informed recently that the twin air intakes on the D4 are both working ones - driver at Skipton LRE said it was for the 5L V8 engine apparently
not sure how true that is
According to brochure info in another post, the 5L V8 isn't going into the D4

In the brochure posted by NeilD elsewhere there is a paragraph on Page 17 that says...
"New front wings to accommodate the re-designed front bumper incorporate a side intake on each
side necessary for breathing and the twin intake of the new powertrain."
So it does indeed appear that both intakes are functional

I'm thinking both side vents are needed for the new 5.0 V8 but as the 3.0 diesel is essentially the 2.7 then one vent will probably be a dummy.Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it
