Replacement wipers

I bought a couple of replacement wiper blades last week. They were £26 for two.

The parts desk commented that there was a separate part number for the left hand and the right hand wiper. So he provided me with 2 new blades and off I went.

Came to fit them, and the drivers side is fine. The passenger side is upside down! (the aerofoil is on the bottom) this is not correct, and the car needs two wipers the same - part number DKC 500160PMD.

We concluded that the parts list is in error, and should refer to LH drive or RH drive, NOT left hand or right hand wiper.

Check the little rubber aerofoil strip, it should be on the top of the blade. The incorrect wiper they gave me had the strip on the bottom of the blade on the passenger side.

It could have been incorrectly boxed of course Question

Exactly the same thing happened to me, couldn't be arsed to do anything about it so fitted the passenger side blade 'upside down'. It doesn't seem to have had any adverse affect and they've been like that for around 5,000 miles.

Hmmm... just replaced my wiper blades. The dealer said that part number was now DKC 500150PMD and that the part numbers do change from time to time.

To my eyes the new wiper is also upside down, the bulk of the rubber aerofoil is now underneath the blade. However, the aerofoil is a different shape to the old ones and a little smaller, so perhaps the design has changed.

Of course, the sun is shining out there, so I have no idea if they are ok or not.

Can anybody confirm the new part number?

cunningly I've swapped left and right on my left-hooker. No problem (bar the wiper only moving so far from the screen, of course)
