Discovery 4 - Make your predictions
OK, so now that most people have seen and read about the new Discovery 4, what’s your predictions on the model specs, and base price for each.
Feel free to edit my list. In Aust the models are S, SE and HSE so provide your predictions for each (I’m particularly interested in the SE). My prediction is the basic price for an S or SE will drop by AU$2k but lots of the new goodies mentioned in the press release will be expensive options except on the HSE. Share your ideas…be sure to mention the model you are predicting for...

Do they have a coil sprung version? LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

they can't push too far in this market as they have capped themselves by adding Range Rover Wag into the mix so they can't steal sales from themselves.
If they are clever they will do a limited price run of HSE's at the same price as the current D3 HSE (a BMW trick), followed by a price hike into the £47K region for an HSE.
They can't do what they did with FL2 where the price hike was much larger as you were getting a premium product versus its predecessor.
My only worry is the options list could grow, but traditionally HSE's have been extremely well specc'd
The reality is that it probably still only costs LR £20K to build the ! 2006 D3 HSE
2004 BMW R1200GS <-- it's a two-wheeled disco
2008 Suzuki Splash (sick of my D3 being wasted on the school run)

D4 HSE £49,995 base.......
Well given that a D3 HSE was running at €81,090 here at the start of 2008 !!
Then with the newly increased “vehicle registration tax†rates based on Co2 emissions which came into effect on July 1st ’08 added approx €4,000 to the price, I’d say a D4 HSE will be somewhere in the region of €90K here on this wonderful island of ours

Not wanting to come across as rude but. Why would you the D4 is by far a superior vehicle to the aged FFRR.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

A Ford Focus is superior to a MKII RS2000 but I know which one I'd rather have........
Besides, how do you know that the D4 is a superior vehicle? The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Well the D3 is superior so it stands to reason that the D4 is also.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
