A separate section and sub-sections within the same site for the D4?

Closing this site would be madness IMO!
There are alot of members on this site that will not change their cars for a D4 yet either because they don't like it or can't afford it myself included.
1 question I have as the D4 looks like the love child of a FFRR / RRS / D3 whats it going to be priced at? Around the same as a D3 or more like the other two?
I won't be having one for a few years I don't think. So on that basis I think there is still a need for Disco3.co.uk. Where else are we going to hang out?
The only other thing that is hacking me off just lately is the amount of diggs / snide comments that are being posted on here. Whats that all about? "The fate of the wounded lies in the hands of the one who applys the first dressing"

The reason DISCO2.COM closed was lack of funds ISTR. I don't think it was ever sponsored, and I don't remember a donations system ever been in place. It relied on grace and favour to exist. The favour ran out and it was switched off.
DISCO3.CO.UK however, is sponsored, and we have a donation system. This I am sure helps to pay for the site.

For those of us planning to hold on to our D3 it would be a shame for this site to close, where would we be able to get all the technical information, practical advice, site members own experiences with the D3 etc etc. I for one certainly would not like to see it closed down, reduced in content maybe but not closed.

i agree with B16, it's not like we're all going to run off and buy D4's is it, there is still going to be alot of D3's around for many years to come,
To be honest I reckon most of the digs at the new model would be a little bit green eyed monster, i know it is on my part.
Of course there is going to be some fun poked at the new kid on the block, there always will be.
I think closing the site would be a travesty, this site is VERY much loved and needed by all of us...

Was looking for the 1st April date on this thread .... but 9 days too late.
It would be a real shame to lose this wonderful site where we are all free to air our views
[as long as they're in agreement with the mods own way of thinking].
So to keep the mods happy and the Disco3 site ongoing you must follow these steps:
1] enter a darkened room.
2] light a couple of tea lights.
3] sit crossed leg on the floor.
4] let you thumb touch your middle finger [on each hand]
5] chant "I really do love the new D4" over and over again.
6] do this for 1 hour each day for the next two weeks.
You'll come out of this refreshed with a new mindset on Land Rovers wonderful new product.
We'll keep our Gods Mods happy AND will still be able to enjoy the benefits of the Disco3 site.
Harmony will be restored once again,
and as normal, we can get on with slagging off certain individuals.
btw. Just in case my post is taken seriously ...... it is all in jest ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I'm a little surprised at the reception - no-one likes their car to become the "old model", however a lot of people are sounding exactly like the D2 owners when the D3 was revealed, and that was the inspiration needed to set up DISCO3.CO.UK.
The D4 is the same vehicle as the D3, just with a facelift, which is to be expected for year 6 of production - a lot of cars don't even make it that far!
You might not agree about the name change (I personally think this has been done to tie in with a move to the name LR4 in the USA which frees up the LR3 name to allow a larger Freelander to slot in between the LR2 and the LR4) but in reality the vehicle itself remains the same.
What happens to DISCO3.CO.UK will be decided shortly.
