I had one done yesterday at dealers, i asked if they were covered under extended warranty as they were trying to sell me the extended one as mine runs out on 21st. Not sure which one of us has been fobbed off I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I think you also have to look at the bigger picture when dealing with LR dealers and the warranty they offer.
If you buy the LR warranty, as I did, you are also (I know maybe only in some cases) buying goodwill and building a relationship rather than quoting a tesco or AA warranty to them.
They are making money on the LR warranty and repairs under such, but this IMO makes them much more likely to work with you not against you. Quoting my own experience probably isn't helpful but since buying an extended warranty they have fitted loads of parts as good will and fixed items for free not under warranty. They may have course done this anyway as part of customer satisfaction. Dealer is Lakeland / Kentdale (part of same group) for information.SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

I beleive the AA are the only ones that'll cover the high milers.
Think it's up to 150k when the policy is taken out.
So [in theory] you can take a two year warranty out at 149,999.9 miles....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Watching your case and feel for you, good luck with LRCC, no way is it acceptable for an engine to fail at that age & mileage!

The Tesco Finest policy also includes/covers MOT Remediation Insurance with no limit stated I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Thanks for all the input, have just taken out a Tesco Finest warranty for Mrs DSL's car as that has been out of warranty for little while. Only down side is my two "local" stealers (Elgin & Inverness) know nothing about that warranty and one is muttering about me paying them and claiming back. Might have to do some educating, esp if they want servicing and warranty work on 2 D3s!
