Ohhh..you nicely dodged that political minefield.....now come one....which is the best? TT or TC?
I know the answer but I'm not telling. 8) I also understand why Derek is keeping quiet.
Besides, it's probably unfair to base opinions on only two cars....... The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

Sorry to confuse but ' remapped and happy ' didn't have the same ring to it
I had the BAS remap. Got the box to plug in and change the maps between standard for Stealer trips, Tuned for everyday use, and OMG........for those hooligan moments!!
Pete is also a very nice man and looks after his customers, even the pain in the ar*e ones... 8)
I'm new here and to a Disco3.. Moving up from a succession of 90's as we can't stand the pain any longer. I feel my Disco3 would benefit from a tune especially as we do a lot of towing, including two tonnes of horse and trailer. I read on the Dastek web site that their product doesn't show when the stealers tech plugs in his diagnostic gubbins. As I intend to extend the LR warranty on mine is this aspect important and can the site sponsor comment on his product/s? I really don't want to invalidate £700 worth of extra warranty!
If 'DSL' reads this, I'm your new neighbour, couldn't send a PM as not enough posts yet..Make the most of this life, you may not have a Landy or skis in the next one.

Im also a strong beliver in trying to keep your warranty especialy considering the cost of it,
i cant comment on the Dastek tuning with 100% accuracy but im unsure if they still are using the plug in boxes/"Power Plug" or now a propper remap.
If they use a plugin box then it will be fiddley to remove just for a simple dealer visit in my opinion.
If they use a remap then a simple occiloscope if they have it or log boost pressures or even test or log in the live data option of IDS dealer tool the diesel rail pressures at idle and full load etc etc
(Things what dont change under adaptation of the ecu)and compare to another car if they realy suspect tuning.
This is of coruse as long as the dealer knows what is the standard settings actualy are.
Admittingly very unlikely thatthey would go to this extent, but its to be aware of.
That is if its not switchable by you of course.
Or there is the BAS remap interface that gives you the control over the remap alowing you to program from tuned to standard as many times as you wish leaving no traces or flash markers inside the ecu for a dealer tool to detect.
Or also coming soon with tuning/remap capeabilitys the BBS Faultmate dealer level aftermarket diagnostic tool with the function of been able to program tuning maps.

Never had a dealer problem with any Torq-Tune customers, sure a few have been overwritten but i've always re-applied FoC, it's true that the dealers can run a comparison on BHP - if they know the standard numbers but unless they have the equipment to do so, the remap is transparent to them
a 'scope or boost test is irrelevant on an adaptive ECM as the engine will only provide the BHP necassary to overcome the self-resistance of the engine - if they were to do a side-by-side comparison on a rolling road or dyno, then the results prove it either way
Many thanks for both replies.. However, being slightly aged & confused by some aspects of computing, I'm not sure I'd be safe tampering with the D3's settings.. I think being able to alter the mapping for different driving scenarios very appealing, especially between heavy towing and solo long distance.
Are we getting to the stage where we'll be operating vehicles with a joystick and keyboard? Perhaps having a computer generated holographic pneumatically enhanced bimbo in very tight clothes on the dash to eliminate slow vehicles and speed cameras with her laser blaster would catch on? But I expect the police would get them first...Make the most of this life, you may not have a Landy or skis in the next one.
