Electric Park Brake
Hello all,
Am new to this site so thanks in advance,
I leave my Discovery 3 for up to 6 weeks at a time whilst i am out of the country, on my old TD5 i could leave the handbrake off. The EPB on the disco 3 comes on automitically when the key is removed. Is there any over ride for this?
Thanks
Farmy

Sure does mate. Mine was a manual
I believe the auto's don't come on when you remove the key, you still have to pull the lever ? Not having one (yet) I'm not to sure
Auto - it doesn't automatically come on (on mine) can confirm it worked on my old manual "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Same here, on my auto it does not come on (but then again you have to put it in P to take the key out...)

If you're leaving it for up to six weeks unused you may want to rig up a trickle charge for the battery........seems to flatten after a couple of weeks of non-use due to suspension checks etc.

I have a 2006 Manual, and again it is left in a car park for long periods of time. I want to leave the EPB off to prevent it jamming.
I've tried holding the EPB lever down whilst removing the key, but every time, it applies itself as the key comes out. Has anyone got any other ideas on how to override this? Not wanting to remove fuses each time though...
Thanks in advance.

Nutter - same for me - the EPB always comes on even with the park brake switch held down. I have to remove the fuse if I don't want it to engage.

You have to switch the car off, wait a few seconds, then press the button down and withdraw the key.
If it doesnt work, put the ignition on, and try again.
You may (or may not) need to have your foot on the brake pedal at the same time. Been a while since I had to do it
Failing that, it can be altered in the car's CCF, using the appropriate diagnostic kit My D3 Build Thread
