My first Landrover, need help!
I'm going to look at a disco 3 HSE on an 05 plate at the weekend at a LR dealership.
Is there anything I should be looking for or worried about in purchasing an 05 Disco.
Also do the HSE's have bluetooth integrated telephone systems. The sales person wasn't much help to be honest!! Don't want to be paying 18.5k on a motor that doesn't have a hands free car kit.
Anybody's advice would be appreciated!!
I think the PTI was an option, you can tell on an 05 by the black plastic hump on the roof.

Thanks, do you know if I can get land rover to fit it if it does not already have it?
Yes, although I believe there are two versions - factory fit and dealer fit, the latter does miss some features.

Cheers matey that a great help, hopefully others can give me some confidence in getting it by telling me that the 05 disco 3's are a good buy. The one i'm gonna look at is priced at 18.5k and done 46k miles so slightly below average mileage for the age I suppose

Hi Wiggs
What is the aftermarket kit like? does it do a lot less than the factory fit one and is it bluetooth?
Just didn't want any major extras looking unsightly in the cockpit, wnated it all intergrated.
Cheers

Aftermarket kit is bluetooth .Has voice dialing and can store names .Intergrates perfectly .The only thing you will see is the 2 buttons on the steering wheel (illuminated aswell)
Dosent have the feature of names and numbers on the stereo

Wiggs, i was going to agree with you until I checked LR approved used list, only 2 HSE's (in surrey) with similar criteria to what has been mentioned above and both are on 55 plates. Price for both is £19,995
Maybe used prices really are dragging their a s off the floor at last I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Wiggs, just saw the photos of your disco, very nice!! thanks for the advice guys
Martin whatever you do make sure you take out the extended warranty. I bought an early 05 D3 and it has had numerous problems, luckily most were covered by the warranty. Most people on this site who have the experience will tell you that "in general" the reliability of the 06 and later models is much better than 05 and earlier. The warranty is available for the first 100 000 miles so you should get quite a long period of cover. I reckon in the 9 months I have had the car it has cost Land Rover under warranty and Technical Service Bulletins the best part of £5 000. The car (HSE) is great, have enjoyed it as have all the D3 owners on this site and it has never broken down on a journey but I have to be honest and say that I haven't enjoyed all the time that it has spent in the dealerships even if I haven't had to pay for it all.
Get one you'll love it and will get the Permagrin. Just be aware of the possible pit falls and cover yourself.

Are you sure about that aftermarket price Wigs? As I paid 224 pounds fitted when I bought my G4 from Nene.
I have to say it works fine for me. I might not be the person with the most needs in this case. I programmed most number I want/need to call in my cars voice control thingy and I also can get the the phones voice control names.
For the other numbers I do the illegal find the number in the phone thing an push dial and then throw the phone back below the ashtray.
The bluetooth works good as a few day ago I had my phone in the computer bag in the back and was still able to receive calls.Roel
