Its got to be the Tate, some of the 'c.r.a.p' they call is absolute rubbish 2004 Discovery 3 - gone
2006 Discovery 3 - gone
2008 Discovery 3 GS - gone
2011 Freelander LE Special Edition - gone
2007 Discovery 3 XS - gone
2012 Discovery 4 GS - current
I actually like the first two...can't see the point of a totally orange canvas though.
Reminds me of a "painting" I saw many years ago. And one you could actually buy (sort of)...the artist had taken a blank piece of paper and drawn a one meter long straight line in pencil. What you could buy was....the concept. I.e. you paid 30k gbp to go home and find a piece of paper, a pencil and a meter long ruler (these ddn't come with the price) and then draw your own line. People did spend money. Brilliant - I only wish I could think of things like that The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

You've been to a travellodge? I'm sure I saw work like this on the walls last time I was in one...
...or mabe I'm remembering the coffee stains by the kettle Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?
This one looks like the paintwork on my old D3 when I p/exed itI know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The top left picture is heart-rending. It juxtaposes the tranquility of noble cobalt blue with the visceral tear of the black and tan, poised above the vitality of the blood-red foundation, which seems to drain off the edge of the canvas, like the artist's spirit weeping at the thought of such inconsolable loss.
The top right picture is undeniably masculine, almost in the style of Wagner. The model's shoulders are rigid, proud and a constant in a changing world. He says, "trust me", yet at the same time he looks over his shoulder, in a hint of vulnerability, hoping that the World will forgive him for the hint of his inner weakness. His furrowed brow betrays his uncertainty and invites us to love him despite his hauteur. We are seduced.
Oh, God, what a crock ... The elephant did it.

Dont judge the elephant,
he's been in a home for old, blind, bedridden elephants
and can only paint with his left foot
So really this work is fantastic for a poor beast such as this, we sould be in awe

Congratulations to all who voted for the Tate Modern. I was trying very hard not to laugh at this stuff - lots of people were taking it all VERY seriously. There was more rubbish than this of course - these the ones I snapped before being told off by an attendent
To be fair there was some interesting stuff which you could appreciate - all in all, the visit was worth what I paid for it Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

NO! It just happened to be on the South Bank as SWMBO & I were walking up from Borough Market to cross over the wibbly wobbly bridge to St Pauls. As museums are free (mostly) in England it was a case of 'what the hell, lets go and get a bit of culture" Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
I've seen more culture on an Agar plate The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom
