Enjoying new Disco3

I took delivery of my V6 HSE on Sat. and it's been brilliant. I checked with the dealer and it has software version 8 installed. I've had no problems so far apart from my wife reporting the warning "bing" sounding for no reason whilst sitting in stationary traffic ,probably nothing.

Some of you might like to check out the new edition of LR international. They take to Disco 3's to the Sahara. One develops injecter problems and the other, the oft reported here, suspension falure and fault sat nav.
They "Have no doubt that LR will sort out the compuer software glitches that got us worried" Otherwise full of praise.

Me , I'm like a kid with a new toy, irritating my wife by nipping out for a "quick run" every so often, ...come to think of it.........bye guys.......must go!

I get a "bing" sound when the snowflake appears in the display. What was the temperature when she heard the "bing?"

It wasn't cold. I wondering if it might be something to do with the rain sencing wipers?

No, its the Park Distance sensor. Mine goes off occasionaly for no apparent reason when I am sat in traffic. I think it could be a drop of water running over a sensor or something.

Thanks Gareth

That would make sense with them being at the front and it raining at the time. Mystery solved.

Australia 2012 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Fuji WhiteDiscovery 4

I've had my D3 for 7 days now and it has the front PDC fitted and occassionaly I get a "bing" at low speed (like when taking off or coming to a stop). At first I thought it was a warning but then I've worked out it is the front PDC when it sensors something. The "bing" should only happen if the front PDC switch lights up at low speed.

This is my theory on the "bing".
