The reason ive done them it to help iliminate restriction in the exhaust and to aid for a more free flow of the gasses.
Ive not tested the bhp gain and to be honest i think it will be very little of a gain, on its own, but comlemented with an aftermarket race/big bore systems i think it will help quite a lot.
What is has done to my RRS (rest of exhaust std) and D3 (Big bore system) is helped with turbo spool up and its given it a slight deeper note to the exhaust sound.

HI
Yes ive just been out in my RRS which apart from the decat its only got a remap on, the note it defenetly deeper.
Admitingly not as aparrant/loud as on the D3 with the bigbore but its there.
It sounds a bit like a standard TDV8 does in respect of the deepness of the exhaust note.
I hope you can understand that lol.
I am making a full system in parts bit by bit, but ive choose to start at the front first because no one else does it
Regards Pete

Unique solutions
I like your idea of making parts that no one else is making. With regards to the rest of the exhaust, I don't think there's a practical off road system on the market. With practical I mean a system that is well tucked away, with performance in mind, not bling. It could well be a single system all the way, without the double or quadrouple tips hanging out in harm's way. This will be simpler to make and cheaper. Just make sure it's free flowing with a nice, deep burble!
