Is that bull bar legal? I thought they'd outlawed the solid ones in favour of the rubber ones that LR now sell?

It's a genuine LR part, Wrap-around Nudge Bar (winch compatible version), part number is VUB502660 I believe.
It's not shown in the UK accessories brochure but is on the accessores list my dealer had (as are several other items not in the brochure). It's shown on the LR US site as a Brush Bar.

It was supplied and fitted by my dealer so I presume they (or LR) wouldn't sell it over here if it was illegal in the UK. I was originally going to get the polyurethane A bar but went for the nudge bar when I discovered I could get it as it offers more protection lower down and the colour won't fade which the 'rubber' ones tend to do.

Walnut dash

I fitted it myself (half an hour) to my beige leather interior Disco and it makes a huge difference because it gets rid of the expanse of grey and matches the leather perfectly. It's an easy kit to fit but I doubt it could ever be taken off. It's real wood veneer too not fake. It is expensive but it gives the interior a quality feel.

Simon,

How far (cm's) are your rubbing strips fitted above the crease line at the bottom of the doors... mine (dealer fitted option) seem to be higher up.

Will check against yours.

Did you follow the LR fitting instructions ?

Cheers,

-s

PS so far no door dings on mine so U guess they are in a good 'average car door' position.

My dealer fitted them so I presume they followed the LR instructions.
Instructions from the Owner Info site shows 122mm from the plastic at the base of the doors at the front, 125mm up where the front and rear doors meet and 127mm up at the back of the rear door

I'll get the tape measure out tomorrow how they 'comply'
