Update speed of Message Centre

Hi all
Have had my Australian spec 'S' for 2 weeks now. Traded a petrol 5 speed Pajero GLS and the difference is the same as comparing chalk and cheese.

My question is there a way for the fuel consumption to update more quickly in the Message Centre?

By comparison my wife's Alfa 156 gives you almost instant feedback when you drive in a more sporting manner and I would like that to be the case in the LR3 so that I can be gently shamed into driving in a more environmentally friendly manner.

I have spoken to the service section of my dealer but he advises that "The rate of update for average consumption is set & can not be changed to a more instant reading."

Does anyone know anything different?

TIA, Leigh

Sorry, there is no "instant" feedback... though you could just reset it over and rover again. But it won't make it more accurate.

Thanks Grommet

The service guy also said that I could reset it but I really like the way the Alfa gives you a 'more tactile response'.

Maybe LR engineers could consider a software upgrade in view of the environmental aspect that a semi-instant feedback could give to drivers.

Our Audi has "instant" and "average" MPG... I guess that's what you would like. I doubt it's high on the Land Rover customer feature request list...

Exactly! I would suspect that the instant figure would be pretty scary at times!. My Mini has an instant readout, and that is also scary around town, so we never watch it.
