My car is a lot noiser with the FR rack than without it. the wind seems to cause a vibration of the sunroof which causes a constant drumming noise.
Of course the mere mortals with the basic models dont have that problem
I have tried moving the wind deflector plates but the noise is the same. though about sealing between the rack and the roof with rubber and bathroom sealant like MrH but then the water on the roof would collect and probably seap in through the sunroof.
good job i have the Premium ICE Duncan

sure it's not the sunroof being lifted by the air being drawn between the roof & deflector plates? AndrewS old D3 had that problem

slacken the 4 torx set screws slightly, close the SR, push down on the SR slightly then open it again to tighten the fasteners
Not a problem with the rack, more to do with unnecessary bits from the factory (like mine )

My FR rack is always on my car there is noise but not that bad, well its OK upto about 110mph. I have placed some 12mm thick sound proof foam between the underside of the glass and sun blind. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

@ Ray,
please explain more....can't picture what you are trying to tell.
Must say that the FR is noisy, like a 747 flying just above your head all the time (90km/h and on)....I hoped with the 4 Hella 550 to create an extra wind deflector but just nog luck.
