2010 D3 bits retrofit to pre 2009 D3's?
Based on the spy shots of the 2010 D3 which include new headlights, tail lamps, bumpers, and grill...........do you think it will be possible to retrofit these items? Assuming that it is more cost effective to modify the outer appearance of these bits rather than how they actually connect to the car - is retrofit possible? Example: the tail lamps appear to be the same shape, do you think they will utilize the same wiring looms and connection points? Example: the headlights - will they attach to the car using the same slide rails? I'm not saying I would like to slap on the new bits, just wondering if you think it would be possible...16 D4 Landmark

IMHO, you'd have much more fun fitting a RAI, winch, mantec, MTR, etc, and picking up some bramble rash. If you want a MY2010, buy a new one.

Unless they're changing body panel shapes, then I'm sure there'll be able to be upgraded. New headlights might have different wiring or control unit though ESP the leds mixed with the adaptive xenons. Time will tell and as soon as anyone here gets one in, then we'll find out and the next round of upgrades will begin. Bit like they m y8.5 cup holders Bodsys Brake Bible

I think there's a good possibility that you'll be able to retrofit them.
In the case of the bi-xenons, the ballast and everything is actually incoroporated into the unit allowing you to swap between halogens and bi-xenons by simply changing the light units. The same is true for the rear lamps with LEDs (from the body styling kit).
The only thing I'm not sure about would be the daytime running lights - if the control for these is not included in the actual lamps, then it may be that a different wiring loom and CJB hardware/software is needed for MY10.
Interesting idea though. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

I really like that front grill on 2010 d3 spy shot. I know that there is a similar after market one but the Land Rover
item appears more attractive. Does anybody know when and if these will become available through the dealers and will it be a straight swap. 'Cos I WANT ONE!!!

I think we can forget straight swap since new headlights are wider resulting in a smaller grill.
Wirringloom will be totaly different, so swapping headlights will be a serious chalenge

I would suggest that the Grill/Headlamp/Bumper combo WOULD be a straight swap for a couple of reasons:
1. Why would they change any connectors to the lamps?
2. The alignment around the front of the wings appears identical.
As for panel changes - the only one I have seen is the fake (I assume, in best RRS style) air intake on the opposite front wingSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
