Question - LRA Battery?

I think i have a duff battery rang the dealer and was informed that it is still coverd by warranty but struggleing for a curtesy car until the 2nd of Feb, whilst in discussion with them they informed me that LRA tech guys carry spare batteries Whistle and perhaps i should let it fail and call them out. Big Cry

the question is ....is this information correct do they carry spare batts and would they change it there and then if proved faulty. as don't want to waste theirs and mine time if not true.

i await with antisipation your all knowing responses. Very Happy

When I called LRA last July/Aug the rescue D3 did not carry a D3 battery. None of thre LR dealers in Oxford, Thatcham or Reading carried one either. We had to go to Basingstoke where they had three. Apart from the time delay sourcing the battery the rest of the LRA was really first rate.

TT - this is aimed at your dealer rather than you Thumbs Up

Am I missing something here.

Why would your dealer need to give you a courtesy car?

Every time I have needed to change a battery it takes a couple of minutes maximum. How long a job can they make it Shocked

Or is the D3 (or your dealer) special?

Can you imagine how much the LRA D3 would weigh if it carried all the varying spare batteries for Jaguars & Landrovers!

thanks for the responses guys

SJR....i asked the same question and the rsponse was that they wouldn't know until testbook connected what the error codes where and depending which error code, it would be a change battery or a bench charge over night which would need me to have a courtsey car, although i am sure it is a duff batt they won't take my word for it.

Oh for the good old days when it was either good or knackered, no connecting it up to a computer to tell you (2 hours later) what you already know Exclamation

probably not going to get this resolved until after the weekend Big Cry as working on the Camping Club stand at Manchester Central (GMEX) Caravanning and Camping Show Sat/Sun and need to use car to get down there, will just have to put on charge each night until i can get sorted.

so prior warning and apologies to the north west guys Embarassed for Monday night most likely to be brought up as a topic.
