Your welcome m8, and dont worry about the setting up im here until its sorted as many members will tell you.
RE the signature banner, no problem at all , ive just uploaded a better/different one if it takes your fancey and any other members are willing to use it also.

I have'nt a problem with this either. It was'nt there to try and gain an extra advert, but to display my choice of remap against others. TBH would the average D3 forum member buy without trying b4. I tried 2 competitors in the remap on forum members D3's, and found this one suited me more, but it may not suit all.
It will still be nice to get a little banner without a phone number etc, to stay away from advertising rules, and to show we have a little something more. Other than that maybe ALL the signature strips should be put to a few choice words or phrases, as they seem to be full of products and now photos

ok, dunce cap is on. Can anybody shed some light on the excellent looking piece of kit that arrived today, cheers Pete
For those who know, or have already done this, so please can we keep it topical as I am a tad concerned I may faff it up.
This is what I have done so far, following LCD screen prompts
1. In D3, no key in ignition, turn off all interior electical items. Radio n cabin lights off
2. Plugged in module LCD
3. Prompted to put key in ignition and turn ignition on
4. Module LCD locates and reads ECU
5. Module LCD uploads ECU - screen prompts do not interupt transmission - Whilst this was downloading I got bongs and errors on D3 screen HDC failure, transmission failure etc etc.
6. Module prompts remove cable, this I did and tested D3 on start up and No errors occurrd
7. Plugged Module to laptop and linked the two items
8. uploaded the ECU file, and renamed it as advised by Pete.
9. Emailed and attached file to pete.
Is there anything I may have missed.? now is it just to wait for Pete to re-write the ECU under a new file and email back, and reverse the procedure?
Sorry if its a dunce sort of enquiry, just want to get it right 1st time TBH

Jason you got mail ,, all the above is perfeclty normal.
The faults bings and bongs are perfectly normal, its when the tool is comunicating over the CAN system ,
The tool takes over the CAN network to do its job of reading and writing the ECU.
After its job is done it as you know it prompts you to turn off the key and remove OBD.
while you do this the tool has pre instructed the CAN network to reboot and the next time your key is on all is normal.

I don't have Pete's device, but a 'similar' one.
As long as you switch off the auto lights, radio and air-con and don't open/close any doors whilst reading/writing you have nothing to worry about....it's actually very difficult to screw things up using these devices.
It's completely normal for the D3 to throw a wobbler when the device starts communicating with it....HDC, gearbox faults etc.....
Don't worry Mac.....it's normal and it'll be back to normal once you cycle the ignition on and off. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Cheers for the advice Paulp, after a few calls back n forth with Pete, whose knowledge of whats on my pc is enough to amaze, let alone this kit. Anyway, between us we have cracked it, uploaded to D3, no faults shown and running without a hint of the silicone testostorone waiting to be unleashed.
Ready to play on the beach tomorrow
