n, hence why I think the new D3 will stay as Euro3.
The Discovery currently available is Euro 4. Otherwise it could not be sold at all, at least on the continent.
Some Audi and BMW Diesel are already Euro 5, these are normal production engines.

Incorrect. DPFs don't require replacement once filled, the engine management has various strategies to empty it as you drive, or request a manual regeneration and clear it out. It's not a device to shy away from....
Not always - on my previous motor (C8 and cousins) the DPF fitted cars (not mine, I had a petrol one) had trouble where it (to me) seemed a common issue whereby the DPF needed to be replaced - countrywide had one of these motors - can't remember whether he had a diesel one thoughSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Worse than that, it was a car made in France with engines from Peugeot and electrics from Fiat
I had a petrol one running on LPG (had it converted), the diesels were a nightmare as the DPF would block or run out of additive which was an obscene amount per litre and you had to get the dealer to reset the ECU when it was topped up.

The Urine is used to soften Leather on the cattle that disposes of it. Asians / Asia use this to produce top quality leather for our posh cars. FACT guys.

Edited the last post cos when I read through, it sounded a tad racist, so amended it as not racist. I watch a HOW ITS MADE programme on Discovery a few months back, and the showed the buffalo, I think water buffalo was used for leather to export to europe n USA for car manufactuer. Chrysler n Merc used it apperently. And to soften it up they used recycled pee from the same cattle...........
.....INTERESTING
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone should tell Nissan. My brother has an X-Trail and it's always in to the dealer having the filter cleaned - after which they try to charge him for an oil change (because of the damage done running the engine at 4000rpm for 20 minutes). He's getting to the stage of refusing it as not fit for purpose, as his driving isn't sufficient to keep the filter clean.

We have a Nissan Qashqai 2.0dCi with DPF and apparently in the small print of the brochure it says if you do a lot of town driving it is not suitable

I know, it's unbelievable isn't it. They've told my brother to drive an extra 45 miles at 50mph every day, just to keep his filter clean. How on earth this produces less emissions is beyond me Disco 5 HSE Lux

Interested in all the comments above but particularly those regarding DPF. Have an 08/5MY D3 and there was a supplementary page inserted in the handbook regarding the regeneration process for the DPF if DPF FULL appeared on the message centre. Assume the latest D3's have EURO4 engines.
