somebody told me that the suspesion can go even higher than the standard high setting, how do you overide this

There are 2 settings above offroad height - extended and super extended. Extended height cannot be selected, the car has to detect that it has 'bottomed out' (or floated ) then it will enter extended mode automatically. Once in extended mode you can select super extended by putting your foot on the brake and holding the up lever for a few seconds.Disco 5 HSE Lux

wow, is there anyway of overiding the settings so that you can o that manually

Not exactly - you can put the car in offroad height then try lowering with an object underneath, so it thinks it's bottomed out, or jacking the car will sometimes put it into extended.
