Warranty Claims over £350 |
|
Why is it, given that I am told that any claim over £350 has to be authorised by Land Rover Warranty,
and given that the dealership knew what the claim value was going to be before I arrived (a front adaptive headlight shutter sticking ~£485 each and not a dealer fix),
given that these are Land Rovers and even a nut and bolt plus labour at a main dealer will require me selling a kidney (or two) so any warranty claim is unlikely to be that small,
given the dealership knew that it takes at least 24 hours to get someone to inspect the said warranty claim and approve or argue (more likely) wear ‘n’ tear,
given the dealership has admitted the light will be replaced as it IS faulty, is less than six weeks old and cannot be dealer remedied, and will definitely be replaced under warranty...
... do they book you car in for 08:30 and keep it all day before telling you this at 16:30 and then requesting the car back in 24/48 hours to replace said light????
Discus (before I pop a fuse) D3 HSE V8...

I'd have adopted my (now defunct) MFI response. It involves going up to a display item that matches the bit that's not working on your car and taking the bit you need. You then place it on the service manager's desk and tell him to fit it NOW and put your broken one in the car in the showroom. I find the more polite and level voiced you are, the more afraid they are I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
