EPB - Replace shoes or not?

I'm about to replace my rear brake pads and while I'm ordering the bits, I'm debating whether I should order new EPB shoes and replace them at the same time.

From what I've read, these shouldn't suffer the same wear as pads etc, as they are essentially only ever 'used' when the vehicle is stationery.

The D3 has done ~52K miles.

Any one got any ideas, thoughts, comments?

Cheers.......

Depends on how worn they are. If they have ever been incorrectly adjusted, this could have worn them excessively.

There was a recall on some models, they had an incorrect adjustment from the factory. Have seen them worn to the metal after as little as 2-3k...

Ideally, its probably worth removing the discs before making a decision...

And there may be a set for sale in the for sale forum too Whistle Thumbs Up

I guess that the short answer is: If you can't afford to have the D3 off the road while you get the epb pads, have them in your kit.

I guess that swings it - new pads, new disks and EPB shoes.

No sense in messing around - best off having them in up front. Nothing is more irritating than starting a job and having to wait for a part you took a chance on.

Cheers guys Thumbs Up
