There's some other belting E128 projects
Now if one of them can explode and rebuild a D3.... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Whether its a class project or an individuals work it is just incredibly good.....down to individual screws
The parts work animation towards the end should be a Canon company presentation.
I seen Inventor work & also Catia.....this takes it to another dimensionBREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

In the 'more info' tab on the video it has this:
Software Used:
Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 3.0
SolidWorks 2005
Autodesk Viz 2008
That is seriously impressive for a final year project. There's probably more than enough work just in the animation, never mind the modelling of each individual part (I'm guessing that Canon didn't release the 3D models).
Very impressive 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

That was going to be my next point! .... Volunteers line up behind DG
But if you feel like starting at the other end of the process, without software - I love this bit...
Brilliant for designing professional looking mods to the D3 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

Be strong, DG, my guess is it took 16 students and three assistant professors (a.k.a. new graduates ) a whole term (a.k.a. semester ) to do it!2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

I would say so.
I was quite heavily into 3D game modelling (on the side) a few years back - extremely difficult and I never got beyond 2000-3000 polys - I dread to think how many polys went into the camera animation Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
Very impressive but my Canon 450D cost about £500 and, according to the vid, takes only 10 minutes to build - should be cheaper really
I love my camera though so I suppose it's worth it!
