Hi John, absolutely no issues with OEM 17" rims.
BFG are not so wide as they declare (265mm),
before these tires i have had Kuhmo KL-71 M/T in 265/70r17 and those were too big (rub inside wheel well) and pretty wider than BFG.
265/65r17 fits the spare tire slot under the car while inflated
Note: this tread is incredibly quite on the pavemented road - Easy-Lift suspension module 4.0

265/65 17
To avoid rubbing.
