MY2008.5 since February 08 and no sign of a loose seat...but sounds like I need to get it checked... The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Not sure when the seat design / Supplier changed, but if your base moves slightly then I would think its the same problem. During my time to get it sorted I was told they had fixed the problem on the production line about November 08.

Land Rover is aware of this issue, the seat "rocks." You must have the HSE model w/the memory seat. I've seen this in the Range Rover Sport mostly. A new seat frame is on the way. I don't know when, but they are working on it. I don't believe that is a safety issue, it just "feels" odd while driving. I have replaced seat frames for this & the new one is the same after a few weeks. I would let the dealer know about it & just wait for the revised frame.....

I went to the Stealers yesterday to report this problem, I haven't been near enough to them to warrant a specific visit since the problem manifested itself. Was told by the service Manager that the thought there is a TSB involving some rubber stops for it, but was going to look into it in the new year and get back to me. Not sure if I like the idea of "chocking" the seat, sounds like a bit of a bodge to me.

Hi All! I've just joined this forum and I have to say that I'm glad to be part of it. This is my 1st Land Rover and I enjoy driving it so much.
I had the same problem of "rocking" seat. Mine is the 2009 LR3 V6 HSE. I felt it the moment I drive off from the showroom. I gave myself one day to confirm that there was a problem with the seat. I rang the salesman and he advised me to bring the car right away to the service center. They change my seat frame the very next day. Enjoying Every Minutes Of It...

This is caused by the rubber bump stops on the seat rail being compressed but then failing to return to the original shape on VIN range : A474327-A494400 ..there is a TSB for it ...No.LTB00176v2 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Unfortunatly although my seats were repaired in December under the bulitean LTB 00176V2 and were ok. Now the movement is back and it's worse. I have reported that the fix doesn't last to my local dealer, but as they haven't yet fixed some other problems from new I've had enough and taken legal advice and now in the process of rejecting the car.
Anyone had experience of rejection - any sucesses?

With all respect for a rocking seat base, that is not safety related you chance od rejection is somewhere between zero and 0 . . . .
I went through the full rejection process and in the end got a new car, but I had a few more issues than a seat frame. Oh and the Lease company took the hit, with LR playing along (in the end). "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

I don't expect it to be an easy process, but I have been in correspondence with land Rover Finance and the Dealer about getting this and the other faults fixed for 5 months now. Faults were reported 1 day after taking delivery. I do not intend to keep a vehicle with such problems, when they can not (will not) be fixed, regardless of how major or minor they might be. They have tried twice to resolve already and failed.
I am willing to go without the vehicle as that is what I expect I will have to do, but will fight to get what should be expected when paying over £40k for a vehicle.
After 6 new discoverys (most of them with some fault - 54 disco 3 terrible, which Land Rover eventually took back) I don't think it is too much to ask that if a fault is acknolwleded by a dealer and manufacture then it can be resolved in a sensible timeframe. I've had enough of Land Rover after sales. Such a shame for what is generaly a fantastic vehicle.
