CB Aerial
I'm looking at getting a CB radio but have found the d3 not very aerial friendly. ARB would like to sell me their new bull bar for $1700 just so i have a mounting hole, I don't like the look of a bracket hanging out of the bonnet, someone else suggested a glass mount which would go on the windscreen, I like the sound of this but it will only be a 3dB aerial, is this enough gain for a CB? I have noticed that most normal aerials are between 4.5-6 dB. Hope to attach it to Uniden's new UH-015 unit which the head piece looks like it will sit nicely under the ashtray.
My original plan (before I got the G4 rack) was to mount one on the rear ladder (when available) using a truck mirror mount or similar.
Another thought was make up a bracket that would slide into the roof rails
A couple of ideas for you anyway...

Whats wrong with a magnetic mount on bonnet or roof ? Alternatively, if you have roof rails it should be relatively easy to create a mounting point on them.Disco 4 TDV6HSE

CB Aerial
I have considered many was of mounting my CB and Mobile Phone aerial. I have been trying to avoid projections that could be deemed dangerous to pedestrians. Some inspectors can be pretty particular about this at times.
The photo shows the two aerials mounted at the rear edge of the bonnet and my gallery has some more photos of the brackets.
I would be happy to provide more details if required but it may have to wait until I return from my holiday.

Bonnet mounted CB aerial
With my roof rack and roof tent in the way, my carefully wired-in small magnetic aerial wasn't up to the job any more.
So I bought a large Sirio mag mount aerial for the middle of the bonnet. Removed the old wiring, which I'd carefully concealed through the outer A-pillar fairing and neatly tied to the roof-rack etc.
Connected up the aerial after cutting the new cable to the correct, shorter length....
...it seems that the bonnet is non-magnetic, aluminium perhaps, so the set-up is no good.
