Park Brake Fault - System not functional |
|
Hello everyone, I know that this topic has been covered in other threads, however my problem is that the EPB is not functioning at all.. I have had the buzzing and whirring about 10,000 miles ago, but this new problem only occured a couple of days ago when I was reversing my boat trailer in low range.
I had jumped out to check for space behind the trailer and applied the EPB. When I got back in I think that I hadn't released it properly and I tried to reverse.. I realised straight away that it was still on, but by this point there were flashing red and orange lights on the dash and the message 'Park Brake Fault - System not functional'.
Has anyone else experienced this?.. I am now out of warranty and was wondering if there is a fix without going to the dealer - Any advice/ help appreciated.

just to let you all know.. the EPD has now come back to life.. I was advised by a freind who works at JLR that if you disconnect the battery and allow the ECU to power down for at least 4 minutes, then you may be lucky.
Our synopsis was that the EPD went into auto safety mode after I tried to reverse a 2 tonne caravan uphill in low range with the EPD still operational.
