Good subject, checked all contributers and didn't find one V8 ! Just in case there are any V8 guys over there, who wonder away from the tar, I would suggest a set of iridium spark plugs go into the bag. These last so long that they tend to get ignored and Murphy says...............................
Have good trips guys, Bob Life always good with a Landy

Not one person with a faultmate or iidtool ?
Wow! I don't leave home without it.
Had a gearbox fault once and used my FCR 2 to reset it as we limped home
Without it we would have been stuffed.

After our last trip around the west coast ,a fault mate would be on top of your list. Twice on our trip we came up with Engine systems failure and each time I was able to clear it. With out it it would have been an expensive flat top trip to the nearest dealer some 1000 kls away. fault mate or similar is a must

Spares list for outback trip |
|
Just planning a short outback trip and have been looking into this topic as well. I would add to the list the following:-
1. A roll of Rescue Tape, available from a number of places including Jaycar dealers, to fix split hoses and the like as it sets hard
2. A can of tyre goo, eg Repco's Slime, as a fallback of last resort
3. Tyre Pressure Monitors (not really spares, but related)
4. As well as fuses, I have a 30 amp circuit breaker as recommended by the spares man at Lennock motors
4. A second car to carry the spares Disco 3 TDV6 HSE, Auto, White, Rear Diff Lock. ARB BB, Traxide DBS, GME TX3540S, Safari Snorkel, IIDTool-BT, Doran TPMS, Rijidij Spare Wheel Carrier, Two side by side Drifta drawers, cargo barrier and drop down fridge slide, ARB 47l Fridge, Yokohama A/Ts and out of date 17" Cooper STTs.
