I've just noticed in my odometer LCD that the car is due for a sevice in 30 days but its only 5 months old and has only 7000 kms (4400miles).Does anyone Know why it would be telling me this already and if I must listen to it or ignore it

Funny you should ask this. I have a D3 registeered in November 2007 now with 8800 miles on the clock. It has just started to indicate a service is due in 29 days or so. Checking with the dealer they have told me that this is due to the date the Pre Delivery Inspection was carried out rather than when it was put on the road. As it had been a demonstrator I suppose there could have been a period when it was on trade plates.
Anyway as a plus they have offerred a good discount on the service cost, of around 90 pounds. D4 SDV6 XS Orkney Grey

Sorry, should have added the dealer is Rocar Moores in Huddersfield who so far seem pretty good they have also offered to supply and fit a missing seat adjuster which I failed to notice when I picked the car up 3.5 months ago. D4 SDV6 XS Orkney Grey

I had exactly the same issue. My car started asking for a service 65 days early. I phoned the dealer who basically said "Don't worry about it - it'll be sorted at the regular service".
I took it in for service with minus 65 days left.
I seem to remember someone on here a while ago claiming that the service counter could be reset via dashboard controls - but I don't think he ever shared this info with the rest of us. Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

I phoned land rover today and they told me to either ignore it or bring it in and they will reset it for me. I've tryed to figure out why it would say that a car that was built at the end of november 2007 would need a service already.
The only reason I can think of is that the engine was built a year ago and so would want a service. But thanks for all the info

Yours should have this beesle, but it only shows next to the odometer display when you first turn the key to start, and only within 30 days? ISTR, (and counts down daily) before a service is due, and presumably negative no. of days after .(if overdue).
