We can't say it's voluntary and then have a pop at someone for selling on their first post There must be some proper guidelines surely Shirley
I personally think you need over 13000 12855 posts to sell anything on here
Why not ?
If your 1st post is to sell something, the likelihood is that you will not post again after you've sold it.
Lets wait to see what Martin has in mind.
And DG, what you selling ??
More timeshares in Wales next to the local emporium ?

If it's voluntary ...then maybe a first poster doesn't want to volunteer 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

It's more that it's taking advantage of the free nature of the site.
Signing up purely to sell something is insulting to the community, you've expressed no interest in taking part in the site but just want to shift whatever it is you've got to sell 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

They (and some others) generally don't.

No ...'voluntary' is undefined ....therefore at present you are discriminating against first posters by insinuating that for them it is not voluntary. Whether or not it is insulting is purely incidental. Rules chap ...rules is what is needed

They way I see it is.
A company or person thats trying to flog lots of stuff then. No they need to strike a deal with Martin
However if someone has something genuine to sell that they want rid of and its a good deal then why not. For instance, I have a LR factory Rosen roof mount DVD CW infra red head phones for a TD5 Disco. If there was a TD5 forum I would advertise it to the people on that site because it makes sense to do so. If I had to post 25 times on that site I doubt I would bother as I would not know what to post anyway. I would however donate to the said site if it sold.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

err...

If members see something for sale on eBay for example they let everyone know.. that's cool... but a new 'member' that is blatantly signing up just to make some cash needs to be sorted quickly unless we (a contributing member that is) says something positive about the sale offer.
There will of course be stuff that we want to buy... so we need to say so in the 1st few posts.

What about a prolific poster who pops over from the Dark Side ...
with a single Disco3 post, to give us the opportunity to purchase?
...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
