Hi all
Now I've turned RDS off I keep getting the radio cutting out for a split second. Happens at all times of the day and every time I use the car.
No problem with CD's 'LARA'

Get your dealer to apply the fix listed in Service Bulletin LA415-003 (basically an infotainment software update). Remedies all sorts of infotainment issues and yours is most likely in the list somewhere

Got fed up with traffic news from areas I was not in! Maybe I should put it back on & make sure I only turn off news etc. What do you think 'LARA'

How I have mine set
Works well but sometimes does not grab the best signal so you have to re-select the preset.

But you should be able to operate it how you want, not be dictated by how the radio works. Mine is fine with or without RDS, the rest of the car is sick, but that is fine in my case.

The brief drop-outs are to do with the TA (traffic information) setting, when the tuner is scanning for traffic 'flags'. A lot of RDS radios do this as far as I can tell. With RDS selected there should be no problem but if you select Traffic Information you will hear the glitches.

Hmm. In that case, as mentioned previously, probably worth mentioning to the dealer in case a software upgrage is needed.
I'm absolutely convinced that the D3 on-board electronics are a direct descendent of Hal in '2001 a Space Odyssey' and will, at some point, say to one of us, "Don't press that button Dave..." or, more likely, "What are you doing Brian? Don't try and override the FBH programming..."
