Evening chaps
Does anyone know if it is possible to mod the EPB on a manual tdv6 2006 to auto release such as, I gather, newer D3s have got? This has got to be the worst thing about the truck for me, it is such a pain doing hill starts - there are such alot of them in Wales

It's probably a software mod needed. Speak to Wiggs to see if he can do it. Bodsys Brake Bible

Such a modification would be a real boon!

I think it can be done via IDS (I've seen the option for it to be enabled when IDS was connected to our manual D3), but probably also via Autologic/Faultmate tools.

I'm sure some expert will tell us it can be done - as I had LR assist visiting again today - ( on speed-dial ) at present - had a park break fault plus others -
He was in a D3 09 plate manual and was saying that it releases on driving away - I commented that mine didn't ( 06 ) but he sounded as though he didn't believe me - Well after he locked the break on and tried to move - guess what - it didn't release - - I'm sure there will be a way to upgrade the older ones >>>
No fault showing on breaks - but lights and warnings all over dash - so D3 got a free lift back to to dealers with management fault >> Oh Joy - I am starting to loose patience >>>>> TDV6 HSE - Silver

The lad from TD5 Alive who is a site sponsor told me it could be done and was just a simple software update/change IIRC. 2014 D4 XS

Yes it can easily be done with a Faultmate. Mine was manual release only from the factory but now has auto-release. It will probably just need the option turning on in the CCF. Andy

Thanks very much for the info
I presume a dealer can do the software update as although there are a few series/ defender independants in West Wales I havent found one yet that does d3's.
cheers
