Good morning, I See the post is old but would I be able to bother you for the information?
I purchased an LR3 and no key for the tow hitch unfortunately.

I'll also need help removing my towbar. I bought the truck with it attached and no sign of keys anywhere. The lock is completely busted, so having a new key made would be useless.

I just bought my '06 2.7 TDV6 HSE a week ago. Loving it!
It came with the factory tow pack with detachable tow hook, but sadly no keys. The number is stamped on the lock - where's the best place to get replacement keys without having to pay main dealer prices please?

So my removable tow bar has recently started wobbling and swmbo does a lot of towing horses so have decided to fit a witter heavy duty towbar. I’ve got the keys so no problem removing the tow bar Right?.....Wrong!
The thing was completely stuck. Removed the lock using the approved (but not posted on public forums) technique but still no joy as the internal mechanism was completely jammed and would not budge despite 48 hours of regular soaking in WD40. I should say that the tow bar had not been removed in the 12 years I have owned the car. (Schoolboy error)
So out came the angle grinder.
Cutting across at an angle revealed the central securing pin. Then a bit of drilling to free the securing ball bearing mechanism. After dropping the spare wheel (good time to lubricate the mechanism which also hadn’t been used in 12 years) you get good access to the rear of the securing pin. A few hard taps and the pin pops out. Job done.
Now just have to pray that the heavy duty tow bar fits securely and that the securing hole is not excessively worn🙏

My tow bar key has just snapped off in the lock
Luckily I could still securely snap the towbar into place to tow but I cannot of course now get it out.
Rather than waiting for a friendly local tea leaf to do it for me, can someone share the secret forbidden knowledge with me please on PM to get it out so I can replace the lock.

Lost Key - Tow Receiver
Hello,
Can anyone please assist in providing information on how to remove the Receiver Hitch with damaging it? I still want to use it in the future.
Thanks
