Guy Salmon (Stockport)
Well I've had a couple of bad weeks, my counterpart at work has been on holiday so I've had twice the workload and all of his cock-ups to sort out, my son's been ill and has been up four, five, six times during night for two weeks, my phone started to pack up so when the courier turned up to swap it over for a new one, SWMBO did just that and left my memory card in it. Etc... Etc... Etc...
However this Fri, after chatting with Helen (a week or two ago) at Guy Salmon (Stockport) and getting my D3 booked in with Martin, for the damage done to it when a uninsured foreign driver decided to use my brakes instead of hers, it was time to collect my car. When I arrived I was beyond my natural braking point and exhausted, I just gave a quick wave to the nice lady behind reception, the one that always asks about my son, and sat down on the couch. I only know one of the sales chaps there and for the life of me I can never remember his name, anyway he came wandering over to tell me one of my mates had just bought a D3 and we had a pleasant chat, I must ring Rick later. Within a few minutes Helen came wandering in and (big smile as usual) sad hi, all in all I had not been there 10 minutes and Martin then came over, just in time to stop me from nodding off. I had already filled Martin in on the details of what had happened and knew he was looking sympathetically at the costs; basically if its quite a bit over the premium then it's down to the insurance and I loose one of my no-claims bonuses, but if its under the premium I will pay for it. Well they've done a load of work I'm not going to get charged for and although I've not had the bill yet, it's going to be well under the premium, a full valet for free and set stainless steel locking nuts and after a nice chat with Martin by the time I was leaving I had been belly laughing and felt tones better.
I'm the first one to agree that we should name and shame our Stealers when things go wrong but we should also give them a shout when things go right, this time things didn't just go right they where excellent.Brute force and ignorance, the D3 does the rest.

Further good service from GS Stockport today - my D3 is for them to look at the Tailgate issue (which seems to have gone away) and an Engine System Fault message, all under warranty - they've just phoned to give me an update and are sorting out additionally under warranty a nearly siezed back wiper arm AND replacement of a leaking front diff (which apparently was noisy at 30mph, but i'd never heard it)
So a big to GSS as I tick down my 3rd year of ownership
EDIT: interestingly I was asked up front by GSS if I'd had any kind of power upgrade - which I answered truthfully that I hadn't.Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
