Having a look on one of the facebook groups the common response is BWI, apparently they were the oem manufacturer.

i gone for Arnott for front best quality especially when i got them for 500 quid a pair
dont do it at the dealer mate it is super easy although time consuming
Arnott is the winner for few reasons :
super quality
very wel made air line attachements super easy to reinstall the line onto the stut
strut has flat top between the 3 bolts so much more access for tools upon reinstallation

done on parking space, took wheel arch lining off for more slack on air line and it was good call although it can be done with it insitu

ive just put 4x of the cheap Chinese ones on £400 all in, not a nice job to do (rusty nuts no access) but if they fail early then they should not be too bad to change next time (plenty of grease) they ride fine look good and as most things are chinese made now day there worth a punt lets see how they go please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

I put some Chinese air springs on a Touareg years ago, they were absolutely fine.
I too went for Arnott on my old D3 & never regretted it.

thnx to all
i also seriously consider the Arnot ones..although are about 20% more expensive
all 4 struts re-checked once again.
Fronts need replacement asap...ive been told
with rear ones i could leave another year or more...
so my questions now are:
1)changing only the fronts should i have issues with overall D3 road behaviour? if in future for rears i use the dunlop ones (softer) will i hsve ant issues???
2) should i go for all 4 ones now??
cheers to all

I find rear ones to be more protected better boots and all
frontswap is easy enough not impacting how the car drives only makes it better
