| [Wanted] Cheap, reliable discovery |

:shock: I’ve just had the dreaded call from my indy informing me that my much loved, much relied upon ‘05 Discovery 3 has a snapped crankshaft :blub: At nearly 20 years old, I knew this day would eventually come but I’m still not mentally (or financially) prepared for it!
With 8+ years of happy motoring, only the occasional spanner bashing, and not a single horror story, my discovery has outlasted many and part of me wonders if now’s the time to look for something other than a landrover. But I have five kids, three dogs and need to tow a pony for middle daughter… so I guess I’m looking for another Discovery!!
I’m just outside of Cambridge, am not massively put off by high mileage and uninterested in LR service history. But I do want something that has been well loved, is reliable and comes from an honest home. Embarrassingly I fell foul of an autotrader scam a few years ago so I’m super suspicious of anything I find on there.
I suspect I’m asking a lot for a man who can probably only scrape together about £2.5k at the moment but this forum has always sorted me out in the past so it seemed like a good place to start. Thanks
