Lock actuator EU/US spec - various versions?

Hi All,

I'd need to pick up a bit of your wisdom.

Do you know if having US spec LR4/Disco4, lock actuator could be swapped with European version? This is in context of keeping all the wireless/smartfob functionality. The question is if there's anything related to frequencies as US cars operate on 315Mhz, whilst European on 433Mhz.

Apparently there are couple of versions of the actuators (taken from new.lrcat)
LR011303 - LATCH LH [ (V)AA000001 - ]
LR011305 - LATCH LH [ (V)AA000001 - ]
LR013892 - LATCH LH [ (V)AA000001 - ]
LR013893 - LATCH LH [ (V)AA000001 - ]

Taken from US LR parts shop:
LR091348
LR091351
LR091361

These are different as we can see, hence feeling that there might be transmitter/receiver in that lock actuator.

What are the other differences, between these part numbers? Dual-lock or something? Which one is which?

If that's the case, probably the best approach would be to source any locally in Europe available lock actuator and swap the mechanics part from this to the US version to keep US electronics.

Preference would be to source fully working lock actuator in US spec (though reasonably priced as new genuine one, are a bit expensive) and use it to instantly replace once the door is open, as at the moment, the car is held on the street and obviously don't want to leave it there unlocked.

I know, it's a well known problem which potentially can be fixed, if nothing is broken, by just cleaning it and applying fresh grease - though it will take time and should I fail, would prefer to have a working one at hand and plan B is to move mechanics from good to faulty one.

Thanks in advance, as always.

The actuators don’t have wireless receivers. I don’t know what the difference would be between a US and EU spec actuator though

US may not have dual lock.

Just to share findings.

There's no antenna in the lock mechanism - though somehow one of the type of codes is marked as 433Mhz (LR011303) whilst the other (LR013892) is marked as LR4, that would suggest that it's for 315Mhz as LR4 is from US/NAS market. With that said, there's no antenna in that module as door handles function as exterior antennas (plus one in rear bumper) as well as there are interior antennas.

What doesn't really make sense to me is that the very same LR013892 is marked as "Without central locking", whilst in any case it's all driven from KVM, which locks to open, etc. This is based on reading workshop manual.

All in all, am pretty much confused, if outside of double-lock/dead-locks difference, all are not having same functionality and would work. There's also plenty of different manufacturers which further suggests that LR was just sourcing these parts from various manufacturers over the time and/or mechanics are the same for many other cars, i.e. Volvo/Ford and only little electronics/something changes them to be LR/Jaguar/Volvo/Ford.

Here is mapping between LR codes - taken from LR parts catalogue:
LR013893 -> LR077832 -> LR091348 - Without dead locks. Single locking lock. Keyless start-passive. With central locking system, with passive entry
LR013892 -> LR077831 -> LR091351 - Double locking lock. Left. Lr4. With dead locks. Keyless start-passive. Range rover sport. Without central locking
LR011305 -> LR077833 -> LR091343 - FQM500210, FQM500350 - Latch - Rear Door
LR011303 -> LR071650 -> LR091361 - Double locking. Lr2. From vin 8h108964. With dead locks. Keyless start. Range rover sport. 433 mhz. Left. Without central locking

Feeling is it will just work - though as said, am nowhere near to be an expert or knowledgeable about it.

Would be great if you could post back once installed and share the manufacturer and/or any codes on it to check how is it advertised.

Cheers!
