How to charge battery and lock the car

Hi there, with the winter cold approaching I want to keep a trickle charger connected to the car. however if I attached the clips to the battery I struggle to close the bonnet. if I do close the bonnet is it ok to lock the car with the remote control, would it throw up any issues aka alarm bleeting all night?

I think Martin does an adapter to plug into the tow electrics (if you have them) for charging.
I'm sure someone else will elaborate. Thumbs Up

Tow socket is one option.

I have small pair of wires running from the battery to a powerpole connector tucked in behind the grille surround next to the nearside headlamp.

Tucking it up inside the surround means it isn't directly exposed to the weather (it has a coating of vaseline on it and a rubber cover on it when not in use.)

When needed I simply hook it out with a finger, and plug it into the trickle charger.

There's a low value fuse at the battery to prevent any mischief if anyone does play with it.

It's been on there more than 10 years, hasn't caused any issues yet.

Likewise I have a lead permanently attached to the battery/chassis with a supaseal socket on it, coiled up and stowed into the inner wing where the air filter would go in on the other side.

Matching plug on the charger, if I want to close the bonnet there is a gap in front of the inner wing so I slip off the bonnet seal, pass the cable through the gap and it hangs down the wing so refit the seal and close the bonnet.

I did think of trying to fit a socket inside the dummy air intake but i'm too lazy.
A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.
