Perfect thank you. Never done an engine rebuild after a snapped crank, plenty of other failures so this is new ground to me!

Engine in picture is one i am building at the moment it too had a broken crank they deglazed it and checked main Journals for alignment all the best

Quick picture of where I'm up to tonight cams and chains in, timing set belt on, then primed through oil filter until oil appeared from turbo feed dribbles here and there timing chains pumped up just under 3L disappeared somewhere fitted fuel pump belt, new turbo arrived and fitted, rocker covers on (spot the difference) I think wiring loom stage just about next should fit gearbox early part of next week

At least ur get peace of mind everything has been done including the turbo
Look forward to the updates as u progress
As a side note I see the jag xf along with 5/30 also specifies 5/40 engine oil
Would u also be kind if u ever come across a 5/40 filler cap please to replace the old 5/30 , if not think ill get a stencil, sand off the writing and replace it with SAE 5/40 with a paint pen , many thks

Thanks will do coming along ok so far, thanks for oil information as you know chipped 07 has been run on 5w 40 for 12 years now still quiet and quick too, going to run millers in this motor thanks for recommendation all the best guys

Coming on well all parts now on engine that's going on before motor goes back in trigger wheel, fly wheel crank sensor, then gearbox once torque converters done up can replace starter and remaining turbo bracket, crossover pipe is last after routing gearbox loom I remove right hand engine mount and refit once in this saves interfering with steering and gives a little wiggle room, no need to go under r/h wheel arch at all, l/h i only do engine mount and two of exhaust nuts easier if you back off top arm nut to get to this you just need to remove the three little heat shields, worst part for me is refitting transfer box well top two nuts anyway hopefully fitting motor next week will do D4 in a bit more detail
