Gap 11d tool break bleeding

Can someone please explain the gap tool break bleeding to me please says in manual follow on screen instructions but I’ve no idea what the minus count down means or when to tighten bleed screw etc but I was a little flustered just done break lines and they wasn’t the easiest of things to do was my first time attempting break lines I’ve always paid rather than take the job on but on this beast I’m going to try my best to learn the lot 😂😂

If you want to, it is possible to let the process run through as a practice without actually bleeding the brakes. That will let you know what you will be doing when you bleed them in earnest. Just sit in the driver's seat, start the on-screen process and follow the instructions, except for opening and closing the bleed nipples.

I agree that the negative figures make little sense, but just persevere through these and it will tell you when to tighten each nipple then loosen the next in the sequence. You might want to check that all the bleed screws are easy to turn before you start the process.

Thanks for the reply I’m guessing that + and seconds is foot break pressed then -and seconds is foot break released that’s the only bit I’m not 100% with cheers though have a good Sunday

You might be right about the + and - , but I've always just kept pumping throughout the process. You will get the added rattling of the ABS module when you get to the right front and right rear brakes, which can sound alarming if you are not expecting it! Laughing

I think your right to just keep pumping because at no time does it say any different I’d of thought it would have done the work for you tbh I’ll contact gap tomorrow and ask them to elaborate on it because it’s a bit vague

I dint bother in the end mate used a pressure bleeder instead it’s really a ball ache and in my opinion excessive break pressing on and off the break pedal for far too long suppose it would be good if abs pump is changed but uses a lot of oil and makes your leg hurt for bleeding callipers or just renewing oil this is obviously my opinion used it on a l322 and on my disco result at end on mine and the l322 was the callipers were still full of air and the gap is a 2 man job the pressure bleeder took 1 man and a quarter of the oil and I found better results
