Roof bars
Hello,
Does anybody know what type of roof I have. I’m after some roof bars - just generic Thule ones. However I have no clue what size or whatever I need.I was thinking of grabbing some second hand which is why I need to not the roof style. I went into Halfords to ask and they didn’t know from my picture. If anyone can give me some kind of help that’d be appreciated.

Looks like you have genuine LR roof rails fitted, so look out for genuine LR discovery 3 or 4 roof bars ( not sure whether anything other than those bars will fit TBH ) . They do crop up for sale on here quite often.D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Would recommend going with the LR bars, they are low enough profile, don't project out to the sides, and are snug in the rails. Make sure you put the front one to the front and so on. They are different due to varying width between the rails as you go from front to rear.

Thule roof bars also fit, just get the right foot kit (Thule Kit 187025) and you will be fine, although they do sit slightly higher than the genuine LR bars.I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

These have been sold but are an example of what you should be keeping an eye out for on here. A pair normally crops up nearly every other week. You could also put a post in the 'Parts Wanted' section?

Bars are identical, you adjust to suit, there's no designated front/rear Paul.

Joe, the genuine LR roof bars include the correct feet, they are a one piece item x2 plus some little plastic covers to hide 4 allen screws, and secured by keyed locks. They are adjustable for width by loosening the allen screws, pulling out to fit, and then retightening to secure them at that width, as said above, and the front one needs to be a bit wider than the rear. Available in a silver finish, or black. They are quite sturdy, mine have carried a roof box from here to SW France and back a few times + various ladders and fence posts etc here. I can’t comment on the others, but certainly the Thule ones are generic bars with separate specific feet for the D3/D4, as mentioned by nigethecat above.
