More parking sensor woes
I hate to be writing this, as I know the topic has been done to death.
For a year I've had the long beep and flashing parking sensor light as soon as I turn the ignition on, with b1b58-11 / b1b57-11 error codes. And I've finally decided to do something about it.
The strange thing is I don't have any clicking from any sensor, and if I unplug either loom, the error code remains. The only way I can stop the beep is to remove connector C0957 from the parking module. This makes me think it might be an issue with the module itself, but then I think the issue has been since I fitted new, non-OEM front sensors, which I know can cause issues. I've had the front bumper off again and I can't see any obvious damage to any wires.
My multimeter leads aren't working and so I can't test voltage until new ones arrive. And I also don't have a clue what I'm doing in this regards, pointers for an idiot will be appreciated.
Could this be linked to the fact that my GVIF isn't currently connected to my sat nav? I can't see it being an issue but would like to rule everything out.
In summary, help me figure out what to try next please.

There is a short in either front or rear bumpers.
Likely to be a sensor, or loom short.
I would unplug the front loom and try and clear the codes. Then select reverse and park brake off.
If codes return, fault probably at rear.

I've tried that, based on your reply on another thread.
I've also tried unplugging the rear loom and clearing the codes. And they come back again.
Excuse the stupid question - how do I test voltage across the looms? Unplug the loom and use the multimeter on the pins coming from the loom?

Yeah. Test volts between black and brown.
If both looms unplugged and codes returning, looking like an ecu.
Test for a short between black and brown wires runnninv from the ecu though.

I'm even more confused having tested both looms.
The front has a resistance of 10.8, based off testing the brown and black wire of the loom itself. I can't get a consistent reading of the brown and black wire on the connector that the loom plugs into, it occasionally flashed 140 and then returned to 1.
On the rear, I get a resistance of 10.8 as well, but that is testing the wires of the plug that comes from the car. For the loom itself, which has a connector to be plugged into, it's the same as the front in that I can't get a consistent reading.
I've disconnected the front loom and rewrote the CCF to disable the front sensors, and as I'm still getting the fault I will replace the rear parking sensors as the next step.

Would a broken wire on the fog light impact the parking sensors?

I had a really tiny nick on one of the wires in the loom for the rear sensors on my D3. Probably caused by a stone when off-roading.

Have you tried just swapping the sensors? £24 for four off amazon. you could try them and if that fixes it, buy genuine ones or just leave the cheapo ones in.
I've just had to swap mine due to the long beep and an error code saying @short to ground" or something like that.
I swapped them out (link in my thread on here) and fixed. I've noticed the aftermarket ones seem a bit slow to respond, so I will buy genuine when I can afford it.
