[For Sale] 2006 Discovery 3 HSE
I have decided to part ways with my Disco 3 - it's currently SORN as it failed its MOT earlier this year. I have started on some of the repairs but don't really have the time or the need for the car as I live in a city centre and now use trams etc to get around 99% of the time.
It's was a fully loaded HSE out of the factory with absolutely everything: fridge, heated front and rear leather seats, aircon throughout (right to 3rd row seats), Land Rover towbar, 6 disc changer, even had the factory fitted phone.
With a little work, it could be up and running again, or could be a good donor for parts. Age related wear and tear but no dents or rust on any panels that I know of. In my ownership its mostly been a long range cruiser, used for trips to France, festivals and camping. We drove to Scotland in it just before the MOT was due and it drove absolutely fine.
Looking for £1600 but open to offers above scrap value - its too nice a car to end up on the heap IMO!

Initial failure:
Nearside Rear Tyre has ply or cords exposed (5.2.3 (d) (ii))
Nearside Front Tyre tread depth below requirements of 1.6mm (5.2.3 (e))
Repair immediately (major defects):
Offside Front Lower Suspension arm ball joint dust cover no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (5.3.4 (b) (ii))
Offside Front Service brake excessively binding (1.2.1 (f))
Nearside Rear Suspension component moun[/list]ting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength (5.3.6 (a) (i))
I had the brakes done, front ball joint fixed and then took it somewhere to have the rear upper wishbone swapped. That garage retested it they deemed it to need some welding on the seatbelt mounts which wasn't a problem first time round and the car is garaged. At that point, I gave up. To pass it would need the welding and new tyres.
I've got a brand new rear wishbone in the car to go along with the sale too.
