This is a video I’ve put together to help others, in particular anyone with a Stop Start vehicle on how to get at and replace the lower steering column, which is Land Rover part LR071146
I also replaced both steering column bolts with new ones too.
I hope this helps others. You can definitely do this at home with the right tools and parts.
I’ve listed all the part numbers and tools in the comments.

Getting your hand stuck reminded me of the slight panic that set in when doing the sunroof drain.
Good informative video and yes your engine bay is way to clean Today is the oldest you've been and the youngest you'll ever be again.
