Webasto FBH fuel pipe routing?
Hi All
following investigation of a fuel leak in my disco 4 (see my previous question) I noticed that my webasto FBH wasn't firing up. I thought initially this might be the reason for my leak as I found the fuel feed pipe disconnected.

Found pipe - question about the connector- 1 way valve?
Hi
I finally found the feed pipe after removing the wheel arch liner. There is a push fit connector that the pipe and been pulled out of. Could anyone tell me whether the connector is also a non return valve? I tried to poke a thin wire down the tube to clean it out/unblock it but meeting resistance a CM or so into the connector.
If it's a valve that would explain it, otherwise it's well and truly blocked.

Have the same question, assuming you removed the wheel arch line from the passenger side, is there a way to access it from the back of removing the front headlight

Hi, I just pulled back the wheel arch liner after removing the wheel. I didn't remove it fully. It's been a while since I did it and no longer have the car but I don't think I could get at it from the engine bay.

Have managed to reconnect the hose, although sucking on it doesn't draw up any fuel to prime it (seems blocked perhaps, although there is evidence of fuel spilt all across the chassis from previous attempts at pumping to the fbh, 20ml I believe that it consumes). I think it only pumps fuel if the dosing pump is activated, hopefully not blocked. Manage to get to it by raising the height of the car and squeezing into the wheel arch!
Don't have a diagnostic tool so will try and start it up when it's colder next week -3 degrees for London apparently!

You can't suck fuel up as the dosing pump solenoid will be closed, you need diagnostics to prime it!
If the temp is below 8 deg (I think for D4) the heater will attempt to start. But, if the fuel line is dry there will not be enough time in the start cycle to get the fuel to the heater!! This is why priming is needed.
So if it doesn't start (takes time after engine start) switch off and pull the fuse for the heater, or just unplug the power connector. This will override any "lock out" command stored, replace the fuse and start the car again. This will initiate the heater once more, and so on this attempt the start cycle will push fuel further towards the heater. You should be able to hear the pump running beneath the car once that part of the start cycle begins.
It may take a few of these attempts to get it running assuming there is no other fault with it.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
