I've got the V6 cologne petrol engine. There are not many on this forum who do (was not an option in UK market)
Post a picture of exactly what it is I am looking for. How do I know its running, is it mechanical or electric (sorry my mechanical knowledge is limited).
I've got a GAP BT IID if that helps (can you see it in live values)
More than happy to help, just need clear instructions on what I'm looking for.
Cheers Blake

Third go at reply
If you look from tbe front of the vehicle the pump is located on tbe right side. It is a stand alone circular electric pump mounted on a rusty looking bracket. It is located between the battery box and the power steering / coolant bottles. It has a black vacuum line coming from the front. If running it should make a whiring sound and feel a slight vibration or disconnect the vac line and put finger over the pump spigot it should suck inward.
Just looking to see if it comes on with the ignition or with engine start or none of the above
Cheers

With ignition on but engine not started, pump is quiet, can't feel any vibration by cusping my hand around top or from underneath.
Start engine, vacuum pump not running, no vibration.
Pump brake 5 times, pump still not running. Brake pedal is easy to depress.
Hold foot on brake pedal down for 10 seconds, then release, pump still not running.

The boost pump has power from fuse 24 in the battery box, then goes to a relay. ECM controls the relay. The output of ECM is (Con C0635-50). The output of the relay that operates the pump is (Con C0576-88).
Hope that helps.
