Keyless entry retrofit
Looking at trying this as no one seems to have tried yet
The main loom seems to have all the wiring upto the doors as every pin except the extra speaker pair has a wire
the door looms only have half of the pins connected
I have brought new door looms as I am adding logic 7 and they have every wire connected to every pin
Now reading around it seems u need
New door latches
New door handles
New inner door handles with antennas
Things I’m not sure about is the keys the same I would of though so as has keyless start
Is the Keyless module the same should be the same as again has keyless start
Does anyone
Know where the keyless module is located so I can check the pin out with the wiring diagram I haveDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

With the amount of thefts of cars (not just LR) with this, are you really sure you want to? There have been numerous cases of cars and belongings going.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Got to agree with Dave, why on earth would you want this option when there's been so many problems associated with it and theft of vehicles?
If you do manage to complete this "mod", make sure you advise your insurance company that you've made your vehicle more nickable, I'm sure they'd love to hear that. Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails

I'm not scared, I'm outta here.

Why not just leave the key in the ignition, will achieve the same result
All joking aside I am all for people doing stuff for challenge/fun but spending hours and hours doing something that will provide no more benefit than saving you pressing one button but will make you car 5 times easier to nick makes absolutely no sense(to me anyway)IID PRO

I could
Leave the car unlocked with the key in the car and they still wouldn’t be able to nick it
As it has ghost installed in itDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

Funny enough I was reading about the ghost alarms
Till I read the bit in the write up , which I then assumed there’s an issue with them refusing to fit there systems to land rovers ie, thieves knowing a way round it ???
Hopefully you’ve got a different system fitted as I imagine they won’t warranty there products with that advisory
For that’s its worth I also wouldn’t fit any keyless locking system, but of course not my vehicle
Plus I imagine the ins will be a lot higher along with them possibly them refusing ur ins because ghost won’t fit them as not approved for land rovers

I’m sure it wouldn’t but just after really thinking about it
There are other mods I want that are worth it
Another thing I have done is moved the obd port from under the steering wheel so carnt see how they could nick it now but you never know just made it as hard as possibleDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

Indeed and with the extra mods you can only do so much
Wonder why the ghost web site says they won’t fit them on Land Rovers , wonder if it’s something to do with the land rovers system or thieves have found a way past it
But at least u have the thatcham alarm , but like everything if thieves want a vehicle there take it
At least in theory they can’t start it without the key
I also read on the thatcham web site if there’s further extra measures than be done to the current security system , but didn’t find a definitive answer
Don’t know how they compare between the D3 / D4
May i ask how u finding the D4 , better do u think than the D3 plse
Thks

Just by moving the obd port is enough as they cannot reprogram a new key without it
When I moved it I also put 2 hiddlen switches in that cuts the high and medium can wires so even if they spend ages finding the new location it still wouldn’t work
And the d4 over the d3 to me is like going from a mini to a jag so so so much better and smoother gears changes I only know when it’s changed cause revs drop it’s that smoothDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

Great stuff
That different then, just admit haven’t test driven a D4 yet
More than likely will step up to a D4 later on, like my D3 too much at the moment

When I finally get a D4 would like it to have the traditional gear lever and not the rotary , but I believe the rotary indicates the 8 x speed box
Don’t know how much improvement the 8 x speed is over the 6 , alas haven’t got a clue concerning the 8 x speed
May i ask does the D4 have the hydraulic anti roll bars please, assume the struts are the same as a D3
Many thks
