It sounds like something has gone wrong with one of the pulleys (idlers) as the serpentine belt drives all the accessories PS, AC, as well as the alternator from the crank pulley.
It's a relatively quick job to pop the belt off and check everything is OK. (ie rotating correctly!)yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I recently replaced my battery without problems - but after doing so, I read somewhere that I should have made sure the car's electrics were given time to completely shut down before disconnecting the old battery and connecting up the new one. Perhaps it was already shut down, perhaps I just got lucky!
In your shoes, I think I would do a hard re-set on it and try again.
EDIT: Cross-posted with PROF G, who is more experienced on all this than me, and may well be right on this one! But you hear so many stories of LRs where the problem is simply an electrical glitch that is solved by resetting the ECUs and sensors, that this would be my starting point before panicking (after reading and clearing error codes, of course!)Previously:

The waiting period (5min) before disconnecting the battery is to prevent settings loss and any "awake" control modules from damage when the leads are being disconnected.
Power steering and alternator are driven on the serpentine belt, so if there's no power steering or alternator I would not attempt to start it until you are certain all is good with every pulley on that belt!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

have a look at the belt with the engine running.
The tensioners at the bottom do wear and fail
once the power steering starts working, the alternator light should go out in a few minutes

Does the new battery need to be coded in the same way a D4 does?

There's a method for opening the bonnet that Hardware ( Dean) might be able to share with you.
Good luck.Gary

Re the Hard Reset - disconnect one of the battery terminals and bring it over and touch the other one. From memory you have to disconnect the red positive lead as that is long enough to reach over to the negative one. I can't remember if have to wait for the car to go to sleep, or you have to count to 10 when you touch them together, but someone else on this forum will be more experienced than me to answer that. Or search hard reset on this forum.

Hi! getting a bit paranoid here! my Battery change could that have an effect on the Air-suspension??
I havent driven the car for 5-6 days and I am pretty sure the front of the car have sunk a couple of centimeters! is that normal, or?
