Hello all.
D4 SE 2015 (FBH under bonnet that does come on whencold)
Winter is beginning to draw in and aftermany years i am thinking of the FBH in the car.
I have searched the posts but to be honest i am now a little confused as to my options.
I want to be able to turn the FBH on prior to going out in the morning, my times vary so a user direct on option would be best but a timed option would also work.
Is there something hidden in the computer display that can be enabled? Or can i fit a separate option with a remote?
As i say the searching i have done has left me confused as to what is an option for my car.
Cheers all.

Enable Timed Climate with SDD or IID, optionally hook up a remote. Everything is here. Wojtek

Thank you Wojtek.
I do not have an IID, not sure what an SDD is?
I id look through your link, but that is where i got confused, the remotes i linked to are for a D3, mine is a D4. And the amount of information and comments that trail off is confusing hence my question here.
I have the 2015 D4 and am after specicic stuff that will enable my us eof the FBH independantly.

Either retrofit the factory remote control (Telestart) with a “plip” or Altox controlled by phone.
Change CCF for “radio control” of the FBH.
Lots on both of these methods on the forum. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

It's the default JLR Symptom Driven Diagnostics software (needs a Windows 7 32-bit laptop and a hardware interface to the OBD socket). Clumsy but capable. The good thing is that due to wide availability, any independent LR specialist will have it - just ask him to hook up the computer to the car and enable the timed climate option in the Car Configuration File. Takes 5 minutes. It's three settings to be changed as far as I remember (enable the submenu on screen, go through "timed FBH install" procedure and "prime the FBH", don't quote me though).
The remotes will be essentially the same yet Disco3/Disco4 model specific. As far as I know all the remote receiver needs to do after getting a signal (be it via radio or text/call, in case of the GSM remotes) is it generates a single "keypress" to CAN bus that equals pressing "manual heat" on the screen in the "Timed Climate" submenu. Obviously, they are fairly more complicated, with diagnostics and such. Wojtek

Thank you.
Cheers Wojtek. Whatever i do it will be me doing it so i am more looking for something that does not include entering the vehicle systems as i do not have a IID and To find some one in my area of France that has the slightest clue about Land Rover is like looking for rocking horse .
Generally you are on your own here. The dealers are next to useless and there really are no such things as indies for Land Rover.

So are there ways of starting a D4 heater without a CCF update?
Does the heater have a WBUS for example?

They can get sooted up and need a clean out.
I managed to get the one on my D3 to start reliably by doing this when it became erratic at starting.
It's a bit awkward to get out and stripped down, but it is a nut and bolt job with spanners and Hex keys rather than a plug-in and type on a keyboard job.
It's a bit of a catch 22 really.
You install a remote control and it gets used more often, but then it will need maintenance sooner/more often. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
